Apple Gruyère Pecan Tarts
Apple Gruyère Pecan Tarts are a small twist on the traditional baked brie appetizer. These are slightly nuttier and sweeter in taste and are prepared to be served in individual portions for easy serving. Using only a few ingredients and just a little time in the oven, you can pop these out when your guests arrive, ready to serve on a platter. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
- 8 oz gruyère cheese shredded
- ½ cup pecans halved
- ½ honeycrisp or cosmic crisp apple sliced very thin
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place the thawed puff pastry sheet on a flat, clean surface. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, slice the puff pastry sheet vertically into three sections, then slice it horizontally into three more sections so that you have nine squares total. Transfer the squares to the lined baking sheet.

- Using your fingers to pinch, slightly curl up the edges of all four corners for each square.

- Top each square with 2 tablespoons of shredded gruyère cheese, followed by two apple slices, then 2 pecan halves.

- Bake for 25 minutes.
- Carefully remove the tarts from the oven and allow to rest on the baking sheet for 5-10 minutes. Serve warm and enjoy!
